I enjoy Sims 4

I haven’t been on these forums much until recently. I joined in TS2 days, but the forums were a mess back then and not very helpful. I liked TSR, even was a mod. I liked all the tips you can get from others. At the same time, knowing every secret in the game makes it less fun to play and come across by surprise. So I didn’t want to use forums so heavily for TS3, and now I’m just checking things out because I have already explored a lot. Also, some youtube gamers and builders caught my interest and I felt out of the loop.

I love this game, too. There are so many features that make it a million times better than before. I might vent sometimes because maybe I get a bug every 4 months or something, we all want to share things we’d like to see changed in case EA takes note. But I think it’s an exaggeration when people say it’s unplayable without mods.

Really, you have to enjoy something to (reasonably) spend time talking about what you don't like about it. You complain about aspects of a thing because they make you enjoy that thing less. What's the point of complaining about something you just don't like at all? It's like complaining about some particular preparation of asparagus if you don't like asparagus. If you don't like it, it's never good, so what is there to say? If you like it, then you'll complain if it's badly done. What would anybody who doesn't like asparagus get out of complaining about the quality of a particular resteraunt's asparagus?

I've been playing since the first Sims game came out but I've only been reading the Forums since shortly before The Sims 3 came out. I kinda feel like it's that way for whatever is the current game is. I feel like if you praised TS3 you got "hate" from the people who couldn't play it because of crashing issues or whatever. I really have loved The Sims 4 as well. Multitasking has changed the game. Also I love that all the worlds are intertwined. I hated in the past where you had all these worlds but you couldn't play them together. The only thing I really miss is having the ability to change the color of things. It bothers me a lot that TS4 swatches are not consistent so I end up having way to much CC just to get things the same color.

I also enjoy the game, even though I have issues with certain aspects of it. But don’t mistake constructive criticism for hating, because in my case that’s not what it is at all.

I think a lot of complaints come from a positive place; we just want the game to be the best it can be.

I very much enjoy the game (though I do take breaks from it, sometimes just a couple days, sometimes a couple weeks, only once was it like 3 months). But, I will be quick to point out things I dislike about the game and/or issues with the game (really not many).

I see a lot of Sims 4 love on the forums. And I'm all for it. I just don't understand why some players feel the need to downgrade past Sims games anytime someone mentions a dislike for something in Sims 4.

Back at Sims 4 base release, I was very much in a love/hate relationship with Sims 4. And I hated it more often than I loved it. I even went back to playing Sims 3 for a bit and took a few week break from Sims 4 completely. Then I continued to play both games, but still I wasn't a huge fan of Sims 4. The only reason I continued to play it and buy packs is cause I knew, once everything I wanted out of the game come to be, it would be a pretty epic game.

I'd come to the forums, and express my displeasure with something (a majority of it was lack of toddlers) but I never felt the need to downgrade another simmer, their choice, or past games.

And then we got toddlers. And I started playing more than I ever had before. Then we started getting more packs that was around family gameplay and I started liking the game even more. My perfect trifecta was toddlers, seasons, and pets. I love most packs (laundry added much needed gameplay I wanted, as well) but I really feel in love with the game with toddlers, and was all in by the time pets released. Now, I prefer to think I have a "like/love" relationship with Sims 4.

Some days I only like it (ya know, those days when patches hit and all my mods break and I have to play vanilla with no CC or fixes for things I've modded out and my sim drops down and starts doing push ups while I have her trying to sweet talk the hottie jogging by.. yeah, those days I only like the game :D :D ) but most days I love this game. I've even went so far as to say it's my favorite of the series and that is saying a lot because Sims 3 held that honor for me since 2009.

I agree with this 100%. I like to be creative with my stories and Sims 4 is the best for me for this. I really enjoy this game.(and have played since Sims 1 came out) But then again, I also really really love my first pet stuff pack LOL! So I guess I'm really unpopular haha

Sims 4 isn't my favorite, but I still like it. I'm glad there are more people not afraid to admit enjoying it. I'm getting tired of "Sims 4 is the worst and no one should like it".
