I feel overwhelmed when starting a new game in The Sims 4. Anybody have Tips?

This is easier said than done, but I would try to stop being so concerned with all the content you're not playing with. Focus on what's most interesting to you at the time and ignore everything else. All the other gameplay features are still there and aren't going anywhere, play with those other features when the time feels right, don't force yourself to play with content you're not completely inspired to use.
