I heart San Sequoia

I agree with you. I ended up really loving playing in Gilbert Gardens especially. I enjoy the walking/jog path with the idle animations. Makes me really want an outdoor retreat refreah so they can add this feature.

Because the build styles in Willow Creek and San Sequoia are kinda similar :sweat_smile: especially for us non american simmers just feels like the tiniest differences

I do like San Sequoia more that Willow Creek myself but I also feel like this world is such missed opportunity

maybe if the next ep actually lets us build townhouses in any world we want I'll forgive them for not adding townhouses for SS and it'll be bit more fun

It looks good in pictures but if you look closely it's mostly deserted and full of decorative buildings. How cool it would have been if the that huge promenade attracted sims walking together, taking in the sights, maybe stopping to have some icecream or take some pictures, people going for bike rides together or just health conscious sims going for morning or evenings jogs? In real life that promenade would be bustling with activity. And there would definitely be more than one lonely food stand.

You can swim and fish in this lake. Would have been nice to have swimmable ocean and useable beaches, we only have those in Sulani and Tartosa.

Hmm…. Tartosa is of more value to me than San Sequoia because it is different from the other worlds. It is the “Italy” of my saves.

For me personally San Sequoia is a an updated Willow Creek except that we already have Willow Creek, the little world with 4 lots that came with GtW and now San Sequoia. They are just so similar to me that it does not get me imaging any new saves. I like the world but it is just too similar to what we already have for my part.

If the new world feels more individual it is easier for me to dream up a new save. If it is Willow creak suburbs 4.0 there is less new material for my imagination to work with.

That said, my actual playtime at the computer is much more limited than the time I spend dreaming up saves and just playing pretend in my mind. While I wait for the train I might fantasize about starting a new save on that upper map in Chestnut Ridge. It would be perfect for an off the grid challenge with some farm animals. I still haven’t had time to play with an household with horses.

A world that I find interesting apparently makes me look past the fact that I have so little time for playing that I haven’t even tried out the main features for the last few packs.

A new setting for stories is just such a draw for me that I buy it, walk around in it with my sims if I happen to have a surprise 20 min free and spend offline downtime playing pretend sims in my mind on those locations in game.

I may have been too harsh towards not just the EP but also the world at first. I played a few sim weeks and built two three lots in San Sequoia. Loved plugging in my headphones and following my sims as they jogged/walked the paths. That was really fun for me and I even love the movie theater rabbit hole. These are things I'll easily revisit all the time no matter where my sims live. I do agree there's so many great spots for community lots but there's a ton of dead shell space that should have been lots. This shell as an example:

I've been to both. Multiple short visits so I'm no expert but that's how I envision those worlds. At the end of the day it's the sims so it can be whatever we want.

It kills me that we didn't get that shell as a playable lot. It was the first thing that popped out to me when we got the world map before release, and I still think it is so, so adorable. I will never get over that one, or the mill in Henford... it's one thing to make a million backdrop houses, but why would they go to the trouble of making such distinct and unique shells, when they must have known people would want to do something with them? It seems almost like intentional trolling.

I never take any hate seriously there is crowd following and people just being over-dramatic so I look for myself so far magnolia promenade is still the only world that really fell short I mean that has a lot of space for shops but only four spots. I really love San Sequoia and usually evict almost every one there and use the space how I want they take up too much space lol.

These are the row houses I dropped in the 40 x20 lot in San Sequoia like the block historical row houses in San Francisco the Pink Lady house is on. @Amapola76 I think you mentioned in another thread you couldn't find Pink lady row houses. While I found a lot of strangerville style victorian era pink lady houses replicas, there are only one family homes, and not a row houses like this.

I like to keep my retired parents who kids moved out. Seems senseless they own a big house and just taking up that precious real estate on nothing.

I am weirded out the added a community lot and not a retirement condo complex, which would help in my Sims overpopulations and housing crisis. I am hoping the pack can fix this, with multiple families able to live on one lot. I already do it, but it's annoying have the neighbors come in and take some of you breakfast.

I think the reason that I enjoy this world so much is because I appreciate it for all that it is rather than focusing on what it's not. I really enjoy having somewhere to go so community lots are a big part of my gameplay. I've added a lot to do by adding lots with lots of activities, that adds to what is already there.
With my style of gameplay, if a world looks vastly different then it is to far away for a day trip. Tartosa is my favorite world, I use it almost exclusively for vacations bc it is so unique. For me the ideal would be with every 4 worlds we got, 1 would be green like willow creek or newcrest, 1 would be desert like oasis springs, and the other 2 would be destination worlds like Sulani or Mt Komorebi.
