- I don't care for them as I find them useless in my gaming style. I play and document that.
But the poses would come in handy Iguess if you were doing a specific story. Or just look at your sims motionless in one position when you... play? :D - I actually am talking about gallery poses, not in game. But I also totally get those in-game poses too. Some players really enjoy the emotion captured or expressing their sims personality that way @Simpkin
- @Simpkin In game poses are very handy when taking photos to put up your sims walls! Here's an example:

Take big photos, size them down to get better quality, download custom frames and there you have it - the perfect family wall. No pain with constantly trying to get all of your sims to at least just stand next to each other. - @Koteyka
How do you get the pics on the walls though? Cause when I have someone take a pic the sim is either standing in a weird position so you can't take a pic cause the subject sim is not facing you or something. And when you take screenshots yourself you can't get those pics up there on the wall. - @Simpkin
Step 1: turn autonomy off so your sims don't wander around.
Step 2: through cheats max out the photography skill for the sim that will be taking the picture, buy the most expensive camera and place it in his inventory.
Step 3: place your sims in a custom pose. There are plenty tutorials how to do that on the internet :)
Step 4: place the photographer in front of the posing sims (Note: if you're taking a pic of a toddler or child it's best for the photographer to stand a bit farther away), click on the camera and choose "take photo". Choose the biggest picture size, zoom in if needed and take the max amount of pictures you can. If you're not happy with the angle just place the photographer closer or farther away.
Step 5: place the photos on a wall, pick the most expensive (therefore with the best quality) one and frame it. Sell the rest. Now go to build mode. Change the color or the frame if you need to (before I used custom ones I usually changed it to brown or white, black didn't suit most of my builds) and size down the picture to your liking for better quality. Done!
P.S Sorry for the offtop! Continue with your discussion. :) - I actually find a lot of custom poses weird, but some of them are pretty cute and I wouldn't mind them if they were actually available in the gallery.
- Ladynightsin7 years agoSeasoned Aceya, it's not hard I done mine
I done theirs for wedding and this picture was a picture frame. though this got to be my favourite picture.
- @Emo-usagi2187 Verrry beautiful! <3
- @Koteyka :) Wowwwww!!! Very beautiful collage you have there. I need to do the same once my sims get established <3

The issue I have with the Gallery poses is that most of the time you get an extreme close-up of a sim’s face, lying sideways, with a hand in front of their face.
But to each their own.
