I don't feel they're akin to dope pushers at all. :( That's a rather unfair assertion and comparison.
Agreed. I may have been a tad harsh there, but I still think there's lot in the SPs that should have been put into the premium copies of base games.
All SPs, GPs, and EPs are optional. I can't afford a yacht, but that hardly means the manufacturers of it are somehow bad people who are purposefully attempting to keep me down. lol
I think there's some misunderstanding here. First off, if you (or I) could afford a yacht and bought one but it wasn't quite finished so a little later the sellers said okay, we'll give you a steering wheel (or whatever they're called on yachts) and we'll give a rudder in this special extra deal, it'll only cost £X more. I'm not entirely sure you would be happy to go ahead with such a purchase and you might actually be telling the yacht seller that they should have included the steering wheel and rudder with the original purchase.
I'm not asking EA to put everything into the base game - perfectly happy to buy a reasonable number of EPs, SPs and GPs but the game is barely 1-year-old and already there are six of these things! A brief search of the previous Sims game development will highlight just how much they're selling as "extras".
EDIT: I think it's greedy.
