Newsflash: I hope you are sitting down.... EA and every other business exists to make a profit. Every employee counts on that to be able to have jobs and make a living.
If you are not willing to pay the price, don't buy. EA isn't greedy. They are in business to make a profit. They will price what the market will pay. It's kinda how life works in the grown up world.
Newsflash of a real article: http://consumerist.com/2013/04/09/ea-makes-worst-company-in-america-history-wins-title-for-second-year-in-a-row/
EA has a poor reputation. So more than understandable for them to have a history of making customers unhappy with multiple games. Even if Maxis has a monopoly, customers have every right to choose what they do and don't want to do with their wallet. No one else does. Reputation means everything in business and why companies like Enron aren't around anymore and why the standards in accounting had to change. Try as companies might, they still have to follow rules when it comes to doing business with customers. There are lines you just don't cross. Everyone has to follow rules and laws even as a grown up. I'm tired of seeing people lecture others how they choose to spend or not spend their money. It is worst intimidation than any IRS agent or telemarketer could do. Customers have to make a living too. It is not just a one way street.
