I guess only time will tell. Never say never. It's not like it hasn't been done in the past. The Sims was actually based on a game called Little Computer People.
Nobody's saying that it will never happen. Just don't expect one for several more years. At least not in the next 4 years or so. And EA has very long arm that reaches around the world. And those names of the games that you have listed may seem like The Sims, but they just seem like that is all. This is why that those games are still around. Do not what so ever under estimate EA's capability of control. Like I had said before EA is one of this industry's giant companies.
