Open world and neighborhood editing and create-a-style are what I miss most about the sims 3. I'm not sure why they got rid of open world but EA would definitely get my money if they brought it back.
Exactly. These are the "big 3" disappointments for me and the reason I am not playing Sims 4. I wanted to move on from Sims 3 but Sims 4 went backward, way too far backward. I was quite happy in Sims 2, where I could edit the town and make my own malls and trailer parks and things like that. It may not have had an open world or create-a-style but it had more than 4 does. Then Sims 3 came along with what I was missing in Sims 2. I expected that to continue on with 4. I expected improvements on what we had in 3. I didn't get that.
Yep.
And they're exactly why I'm having such a hard time getting into sims 4. No matter what I do, I always end up going back to 3 (and 2 when I'm in the mood for it) It's frustrating. I feel like I'm one of the only people who can't get into it. The only upside is that it's easier for me to create custom content than it was in 3.
Honestly I could do without the open world if they would just bring back neighorhood editing. It gave me much better control of my game. And there are such pretty lots available for downloading, too, but it's a pain to place them. You only get a few empty lots in the neighborhoods and as far as I know, you can't put new empty lots down.
