Okay I've fixed part of the problem through MCCC. Mother and daughter are now back in place, however, the process messed with other aspects. I had to re-marry husband and wife, and re-add son's relationship to father.
However, this also removed mother's relationship to son. I've added them back in but it's added them as step-son and step-mother. I can't fix this with MCCC as far as I can see.
I suppose this is better than it was before, but the family tree is now messed up - Hello I have the same problem. My sim's mother got deleted as their mother and is now "good friends" only.
I've tried the cheat and I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong, but it's not working for me.
Mother's ID is 969411397166505666
Daughter's ID is 969411397127249524
I put in:
relationship.add_bit 969411397166505666 969411397127249524 family_parent
relationship.add_bit 969411397127249524 969411397166505666 family_son_daughter
But this isn't working. Any suggestions? "Cement;c-13989496" wrote:

There's a cheat for it, but it's very long winded.
First you need to turn testingcheats on, then type in Sims.get_sim_id_by_name First Sim for the first sim. You're going to get a huge number/letter combination that looks like gibberish. Type that cheat again for sim number two, and see another long number/letter combo.
Those are their IDs.
Now, (here comes the annoying part), type in relationship.add_bit FirstSimID SecondSimID family_parent. Don't interchange the IDs. It'll look like two huge number things next to each other, separated by a space, with "family_parent" after.
This sets "First Sim" as the parent of "Second Sim."
Now, you're going to have to do that cheat again, except it'll look like relationship.add_but SecondSimID FirstSimID family_son_daughter.
This sets "Second Sim" as the child of "First Sim."
The game should register those two sims as relatives.
It's the only way :(
I tried this just now for my game but it didn't work. I don't know why it isn't working. Please help. I've tried so many things and none have worked.- The simplest way I know of to edit relationships is to put a copy of your family into your library. After opening CAS, you could bring them in there and edit them. But yes, all their relationships with other sims and any other progress would probably be lost in the process. It would be as if they are newly created sims.

- That's my main family that I play with, when I go to manage households and try to change it it is gryed out and says can't edit pretty existing Sims.
