Based on what I've watched and seen, the expansion uses a pretty basic (maybe slightly red?) color palette which I find kind of disappointing having played in worlds from the Sims 3 such as Sunlit Tides that looked amazing and actually FELT like you were visiting a tropical destination simply based on how beautiful the "skyline" looked from the ocean which was done by environmental lighting. Island Living's sky looks pretty generic and dark in comparison and doesn't look very tropical at all. The only thing that adds any color or light to screenshots/video is the actual blue water and beaches. The night has reddish sky tones. I find this kind of strange since almost every town or world in the Sims 4 has a distinct environment palette so I'm a little surprised Island Living doesn't. Anybody else notice this?

No I mean the island has an active volcano so it’s not surprising that there’s a red tint from the lava in the night sky.

I think it looks beautiful as it is and not all islands and countries are going to look the same.These islands are more based on Hawaii and other Polynesian islands, not the Caribbean. Sunsets can have a lot of red, orange, blue and purple, etc...

I wish Island Living had a different color environment palette

I also love the colors. I like how bright and vibrant there and I don't think this island is supposed to be Caribbean or anything to do with the Caribbean so maybe that's the difference from your experience. I've never visited somewhere tropical in person though oh, I don't like hot weather haha! So I'm commenting on on enjoying what I see in this pack and not from personal real life experience.

I think the colors in this pack are just beyond gorgeous. I noticed that the lighting is different depending week part of the island you travel to. It’s actually pretty detailed

Well as I haven't played it of course I have no idea what it will look like, this was just my first impression. Plus with seasons, it can change the games look pretty quick no matter what palette it uses.
