Thank you @IcyJ. I’m playing the pleasants and they were already enrolled. I’m going to go to another rotation, when I come back to them and enroll again, do you know how long requesting a scholarship will take to get? - GalacticGal5 years agoLegendI had a Sim who was taking Biology as his major, since he was going into the medical field. Getting him to do all of his work got increasingly difficult to achieve. Then he managed to be late to class more than a few times. Or I forgot to make sure he was taking notes while in class. He was living in the same dorm as his three siblings, at that time. It may have been my first attempt to guide that many Sims through Uni. All I know is that they each had three classes apiece. The long and the short of it is, Joey failed one of his critical classes. (At least I saw it as critical.) But, he failed. Since I wanted him to graduate at the same time with his siblings, I had him take four classes, to 'catch up'. And, yes, the very class he failed was one he could take over. I don't know about it being random. I have taken Sims through Uni (generally multiple Sims at a time) at least three times at this point.
- ChampandGirlie5 years agoSeasoned AceAs mentioned above, they do not receive the credit and need to take another class for each failure, but it's not a repeat of the same class.
I had a soccer player who managed to fail out by having too many failed classes that dragged his GPA down until he went on probation and then failed that. I concluded that he failed out of university. Technically, he could wait and apply to go back but I decided it was time for him to move onto the next chapter in his life and he got a job. I played him in a group of students who all got different grades. I think he was submitting presentations too early before the end of the semester, but somehow he'd manage to flunk a class each semester multiple times. He did his school work but I think he was late to a few classes and may not have studied as much as the others.
Now, I'm careful about the athletics scholarship. There are also some sims whom I send on a "slow track" for whatever reason. They take fewer classes over a longer stretch of time.
My normal pace is 3 classes per semester for 4 semesters with the semester stretching over the weekend to allow a bit of time for "a life" and doing presentations, term papers or other extras. I've never tried 4 classes in 3 semesters because it does not sound like fun. If I have a very nerdy sim with a high Research skill going into university, maybe I'll try it. - SheriSim5 years agoSeasoned Ace@ChampandGirlie how do you get them to stretch the semester over the weekend?

It takes a couple days to get the scholarship results. 2 or 3, I think."SheriSim57;c-17768535" wrote:

Just sign up for University in the middle of the week. It all depends on the day you enroll. - Sketch7935 years agoSeasoned AceHad my Sim apply for some scholarships and used the phone to check their status. Took exactly one day from the time he submitted the last application to get all the results.
- Daephene15 years agoSeasoned AceThis is interesting because I just got University for Christmas and overall I've had three classes failed and every time the sim had to retake the exact same class. Probably just random since it's such a small sample size, but it's weird that doesn't happen to others.

Thanks for asking. I start the semester from Wednesday or onwards during the week. I've done that on different days of the week but concluded that I like Wednesday or later best. If you do that, then they get a weekend in the middle. They will have final exams on Monday and Tuesday if they start on Wednesday.
Over the weekend, I have them do term papers, presentations and catch up all homework. There's still usually enough time for them to have a few breaks such as going to a bar or dinner out with parents or a date. Occasionally, they've gotten married over the weekend but I make them wait for the honeymoon until after graduation. I usually let new grads go on a trip or else have a relaxing staycation. - ChampandGirlie5 years agoSeasoned Ace

The soccer player failed out a while ago so I may not be remembering exactly correctly. I do remember that he failed different classes and I don't think he had to constantly repeat. A few that he failed were electives though. I mean, I know how to have straight A students so that wasn't it.
I think it was due to all of the time playing soccer. He got into great shape. Also, like I said, I was playing a bunch of different sims. When I play one or two, it's easy to generally get As. I kind of liked having the varied outcomes and randomness. Ultimately I broke that group up. I do wish it was a little easier to split up university households. It was a little bit of a production to move all of those sims out in the middle of university, but it worked out.
