If Generations was the next EP, would you buy it?

As the title says, if Generations came out as the next EP would you buy it?

  • I would have to see what's in it before making a choice. I'm not a "family player" so I have no interest in babies, toddlers, or elders. My decision comes down to what becomes available for children and teens. If it has stuff that I think would enhance my gameplay then I'd get it when it goes on sale.
  • Yes but only sales from now on, half off or more. I’ll never buy another pack at full price.
  • Of course I would buy it because I think it will add to family play but i am a little fed up of paying full price for content that could be more so these days I also might end up waiting for the sale around the corner..
  • Only if it was the only way to get body hair. Bunk Beds are confirmed to come in a patch, at least one style, hopefully maybe 2 though I'm sure Generation would have more, 1-2 styles works for me. But that body hair is the only thing that would make it a must buy. I''m not much of a family style player.
  • Hypothetically , if it did come out tomorrow, I'd wait for the summer sale

    Maybe.

Honestly slowly starting to feel defeated with this game the more it bugs out on me.

  • We need babies to not be glorified objects in the game. Our kids and toddlers need to be able to do more things. Our teens need proms homecoming and learning to drive at least as a rabbit hole event and other interactions. The only life stage that really doesn't need to have anything done to improve it is a young adult. I would like a preteen lifestage. Adult sims should be able to do things like start a retirement plan. Elders need a lot more done for them like take the grandkids for the weekend as either a rabbit hole event or if the parents have parents the child would travel to the grandparents for the weekend. For example, Simeon Silversweater and Mila Munch have kids Since we don't know their parents it would be a rabbit hole event with buffs and the kids would return Sunday night. On the other hand, if Malcolm Landgraab and Luna Villareal have a child they should be able to send the kids for the weekend with Nancy and Geoffry where you can choose to join the child and do things with Nancy and Geoffry or choose for it to be a rabbit hole event. where Luna and Malcomn can work on making more grandkids for Nancy and Geoffry to spoil. I would like the option to place children, toddlers and babies for adoption. Especially since I do have teen pregnancies in my game to add both drama and realism. Allow elders to teach the next generation. I remember learning to knit and crochet, baking and cake decorating from my one grandma while learning about The Great Depression and WW2 and other histories from the other grandma who made learning history fun. She was with the USO in WW2 and the stories she had about that time were amazing. I would love my sims to experience things like that with photo albums and scrapbooks.
  • Ah, doesn't a sim family enter the generational thing by default as soon as the kids arrive? Regarding having things for elders to do - I am one, so can say from personal experience that I do the same things I did when I wasn't one. So, why not have sim elders do the same?
  • Generations was my favorite EP in TS3, tying with World Adventures. (I didn't even bother with Seasons until this year, although I really haven't played TS3 but once since getting it.) I loved the parties and that kids could do things like go to prom (although I wasn't too fond of the "rabbit hole" nature of it. It's kind of like how the "space exploration" in TS4 works.)

I know that they caught heat for making games too similar to previous ones when we went from TS1 to TS2 and TS3, but I hope that they take the things we really loved about Generations (but weren't included in Parenthood, which I also like) and add in some of the TS3 Store things that are family oriented. There are so many things that our families could be doing (many of which have been mentioned by people in this thread) such as planning for retirement (writing wills and the like), funerals, bridal showers, wedding showers, graduation parties. Of course, it would be lovely if babies were no longer objects (but I suspect people will be angry if that isn't a "base game" option that comes with the EP.)
