- As if! I'd never pass up on this kinda pack because of some hotels.
- Everything else looks really good so far, I'll reserve full judgement until the trailer but I've got to say that the swimming, water crafts, conservationist career, mermaids, cultural aspect and all the other features are appealing enough in themselves for me at the moment

Yes, I'd be upset. Hotels are a "thing" since way back in the first The Sims iteration in it's Vacation EP and was also included in TS2 and TS3. So if it's taken out of this iteration...*sigh*... I've already been so disappointed with this game, but it'll have reached a new low.
But I'm hopeful. I just can't imagine a vacation or tropical EP without it.
The main complaint about Island Paradise is Resorts we’re Residential worlds only. As this seems to be a Residential world, it only makes sense to wait for a Vacation Pack for Hotels.
If they can make Jungle Adventure, they can make the next Vacation world have Hotels.- Managing businesses/hotels has always been one of my least favorite parts of The Sims. Not that I don't understand it's fun for other people, it's just not what I play for.
I'm hoping if/when we get University, that that is the expansion pack that adds "shared housing" lot types. And you can either live in shared housing as a tenant (or sorority/fraternity member) or own it and rent out on your own. And either set units or live communally. If they tweaked shared housing to add a "duration of lease", you could really easy set the duration to a day or something and then basically run it like a hotel.
That's all *wild* speculation, but in either case, hotel management is not my jam. - Not a deal breaker but I'd be disappointed that they aren't a feature.
- I'd rather have hotel/resort be a game pack. Modders have given us them to run/visit till then.
- Not a deal breaker, but I'll be super disappointed. :( We had hotels together with that theme in the last iterations (TS2 and TS3). So, if it's taken out of this iteration, it will be really sad. It seems in TS4, in every expansion released, we lose something that we got in last iterations... Like apartments that cannot be build, no functional elevators in City Living, then, no horses in "Cats and Dogs",... So it will be really sad if we get this new expansion without hotels... Unless they make a great game pack about hotels and even include in it the functional elevators! :D
