I'm sorry you've had a tough time but it's good that, like many Simmers, you can find comfort in playing The Sims. It's definitely a game that has helped a lot of people especially during the last couple of years.
The news about the NPC lore update is very exciting and I'm sure the Devs (who love the game just as much as us!) have loads of ideas up their sleeves already, but it would be great if they can take players' ideas into consideration too.
Unfortunately, the EA hiring process is rigorous and I don't think they are able to hire people via the forums, it all has to be done through an application process on the EA careers website: https://www.ea.com/careers
They have lots of roles, including remote ones and also offer internships and graduate programs. If you really want to be hired to work on The Sims, you should put together a CV (and include a portfolio if you have one) and see if they are currently hiring for any roles that fit what you want to do.
In the mean time, I'd suggest that you post any ideas you have for the lore update in the Feedback and Ideas Section, I'm sure lots of fellow Simmers would be interested in seeing them, and who knows, perhaps a Dev will end up seeing them too.
P.s. If you don't currently have experience working for a games company and want to build up your CV/portfolio you could try reaching out to (independent) game developers to see if they can offer you any kind of work experience.
Alternatively you could start a blog/YouTube/twitch and show off your knowledge and love for the game there.
I sincerely hope that one day you get your dream job working with The Sims (and then maybe you can put in a good word for me? haha) but gathering experience and building a portfolio on the way there is not only important but can be lots of fun too!
I really admire your passion and wish you lots of luck!
