I'm on vacation in South America, stop asking me to meet you at the club back home

I think there should be an update to stop all the sims sending you requests to go out on a date back home with your friends when your sim is away on vacation. I'm not sure if accepting one of the invites would end your vacation or you'd just return after you finished your date (I didn't want to risk it either way) but it does kind of take you out of the "reality" if your sims can just jump back and forth like that. Also, my sim is married and doesn't even know the other sim asking them out? That should be addressed too.

My teen sims went to Selvadorada and their cat called them because of their curfew..

I was on a week long vacation and accepted a date by mistake and it ended my trip five days early. No simoleans returned.

Yeah it can get annoying to get a let's go on a date call. It's weird too because I often don't want to miss things like the Spice Festival, so when I get that drop down that it's on sometimes I'm like darn it... but I know if I leave vacation it's over and it's not like my sim will get a refund. So mostly .. although sometimes funny they end up being annoying. I'd kind of like vacationers to be in their own little bubble for the however many days they chose to stay on vacation... or at least have a way to truly turn the phone off.
A question to those who play multiples going on vacation.... can one sim attend an event back in the towns and another stay on vacation?

This is EXACTLY what I've been furious about as well. If I'm on vacation I don't wanna go into a bar in my hometown.

They need to disable these texts while on vacation! Just imagine when we get a relaxing vacation spot and you just want to give your Sims a time out from the regular life. AND YOUR FRIENDS ARE CONSTANTLY ASKING YOU TO GO OUT! Nope, I'm on vacation and don't want to catch a flight just to go out with you.

Yeah, in the real world when we go on vacation, my husband leaves his pager on his desk at work and we both set our phones to silent for everyone but each other.

I just never answer the phone? Even when I am on my home lot I tend to assume it's a sim trying to ask my sim out to whereever. Had a sim actually invite me out to the Cantina. So I had accepted, since I was already there. :)

Sometimes I put the phone on silence, so I don't hear the phone ringing.

Maybe they could add a feature to the phone to just block text messages just to toggle it on and off again.
