Impossible to learn potions from experiment
Its literally impossible for me to learn potions from the cauldron, it takes forever and I have to ask other mages to teach me a potion recipe but it takes the fun out of the game.. I'm level maste...

I've generally had bad luck with learning via experimentation and practicing magic. Out of ... well, I want to say at least 10 ... spellcasters, I think I've learned a total of ten spells and five potions across all of them by experimentation and practice. Admittedly, some I didn't really try (It was a legacy, so I'd built up their collection of spellbooks over the years and used that as much as possible.)
Other people apparently have had it easier, so I think it's just bad luck.
