There been a lot of talk.Why was horses not in other packs.I feel like we are overlooking something.In cats and Dogs we got a vet clinic.I am not excusing it .I feel like if we got horses we would not get vet clinic.I do believe we should least got small pets here, and do not like my first pets stuff.I do believe we had a big feature.In cottage living? Why hoses fit cottage living .We also had one the most fuller packs.It came with cows, llamas, chickens, rabbits and even training birds.Canning, county fair, giant crops.I feel like the packs was full.In my opinion as long as the expansion is full.I do not really care if we had. features that would fit other packs .Now my feels are neuturual right now for the new pack.I have to see more information is it a full pack.That warents an expansion.

I am delighted by what I've seen so far for this pack. Admittedly I am biased, but judging from our other GP's if this had been a GP it would have been a small 5 or 6 lot world, horses, some CAS and BB, and that's it. This one also has ridiculously adorable mini goats and sheep, nectar, gathering prairie grass and (from the sound of it) it will be a standard EP-sized world, which is usually 12 or so lots. It looks like we can shear the sheep, so I guess we'll get milk from the goats. We can hire a ranch hand for assistance. There's even a new dance, and other things I can't remember. The horses can jump and barrel race - ok, we do need more info about this, but even so, it sounds great. EP's also usually have more CAS and BB than a GP. This looks like a nice, busy EP to me.I just hope we can have our horses in other worlds.

I remember with Cottage Living how surprised (and Happy) I was when I discovered all of the gameplay included that they hadn't mentioned before the livestream. I am thinking they may be keeping some secrets to be announced just before release of the game when we have a livestream and the gamechangers will be allowed access to play and show us all that is in the game.

We have not even seen all of the pack yet, just a trailer. They always save things for later. Horses could not fit into another pack. People seem to forget how packs like get to work turned out, or mermaids. Anytime they tried to cram a bunch of different themes together they feel half done. Ever since they started giving themes individual packs the theme feels full and complete and I love that! This game is my long term hobby and if it brings fun themes with more depth and attention to details in individual packs I'm more than happy to pay for it! For those on more of strict budget there are lots of sales. They don't have to pay 40 dollars. But for every pack I paid 40 dollars for years ago I'm still getting enjoyment out of it till this very day. For someone who really enjoys it, the sims is one of the least expensive hobbies with the most value when you step back and look at it objectively. If it were a gamepack we probably wouldn't even get a world. And I want this amazing looking world! And personally I think this EP looks full. I saw tons to do, especially once combined with other packs.And we know from the code that horses were in the works for years. That they didn't bring them sooner, imágine how complex it probably was just to get horses working properly in this game! I have nothing but respect to them for bringing this to us ?

I feel like it’s an EP not a GP. I don’t see how people can judge it so harshly as far as what’s not there since we only have 1 trailer, 1 blog and a whole lot of speculation. I’m not the biggest horse enthusiast but from what I’ve seen and read, this is EP worthy not watered down GP.

In defense of the Horse being in there own pack.

I remember with Cottage Living how surprised (and Happy) I was when I discovered all of the gameplay included that they hadn't mentioned before the livestream. I am thinking they may be keeping some secrets to be announced just before release of the game when we have a livestream and the gamechangers will be allowed access to play and show us all that is in the game.

I’m not at all excited about the pack but have to agree. People will never be satisfied, they’ll always say “this EP should be a GP, or this GP should be a SP” literally laughable

I agree - I never pay the full price for any pack (except for kits). For those who feel this should be a game pack and not an expansion, they can wait for the half-price sale and it will then cost not much more than a game pack.

There's a few things I think people don't realize, which irritates me.

-EA only allots them a certain amount per DLC.
-It takes a lot of money to make really good animations. They have to study references, workshop those ideas, have meetings on those ideas and decide what the animations should be - then they have to create those animations for the Horses.
-They then have to create animations for all the other things in the game that will interact with Horses. Sims and other animals having animations.

The above doesn't even factor in the concept art, the model making, the CAS system for horses, the painting and texture maps, the making of the world.

I didn't play with Sims 3 at all outside of a little bit of Base Game (just couldn't get past the graphics, which is on me), but from what it sounds like that game was wide but shallow in terms of feature sets in packs and this one is narrow but deep, if that makes sense.

Mind you, I'm not talking about all that was included in Sims 3 BG as that was both wide and deep (especially compared to Sims 4 BG when it was released, yikes), I'm mostly talking about the expansion packs.

So we got a pets pack with all different sorts of pets which was awesome, but your horses didn't have a bunch traits and skilling like they will here. We got a supernatural pack with a bunch of different types of creatures, but each one didn't have a ton of depth.

It's a totally different approach and I think if you're used to one it's going to be difficult to adjust to the other, which is I empathize with. The good thing about this narrow but deep approach is that you can skip packs if they don't fit your niche because it's less likely they will overlap with things you want.
