Well....
EA_Cade closed the discussion on EA Answers a couple days ago and it doesn't appear EA was interested in our opinions after all.

Thank you all for providing me with your feedback, I've made sure to include this thread each week in my reports.
As it has now been several months since the shopping cart icon was introduced and I haven't been given any updates related to this topic, I can only conclude that the shopping cart icon will not be removed and I'll be closing this thread down.
I know that this wasn't the update this thread wanted to hear, but it's the update I have to share.
That sucks. But it is not unexpected. The radiosilence on behalf of EA for months on this subject was a very clear message in my opinion. I had a more lengthy reply typed out but the is nothing to be gained by posting it anymore. Aggressive marketing is here to stay.
While EA as a company remained silent, I do appreciate that EA_cade's effort to listen to us.
