Where is your Nordhaven located?

With a brand new world I always try to place it geographically, based on climate and architecture, perhaps even with a wink to local traditions that we get via new features. With Nordhaven I find it a bit tricky, especially before knowing the seasons and weather.

Where will you place the new world among your existing worlds? Name two neighboring worlds that will be be pretty close to your Nordhaven...?

  • I'm placing my Nordhaven far north, actually north of Windenburg. It makes sense when knowing Scandinavia is north of the northern European based Windenburg. Newcrest is pretty close, as well, so are Granite Falls and Moonwood Mill.

But - it feels like the architectuaral styles are quite different. Being neighboring worlds there could be a little bit of Windenburg's architecture in Nordhaven, and the other way around.

The tall snowy mountain could actually be west/east/south of Windeburg too. Now I'm excited to find how cold and long the Winter is in Nordhaven. And if Summer is chilly.

  • I can see Nordhaven being close to

    1. Windenburg. Some windenburg names like the Lykke centre and Björn Bjergsen can't be anything but Scandinavian. So there is overlap, rather than completely next to each other.
    2. Glimmerbrook. This is a world that feels like it belongs up north in the northern hemisphere. As this world comes without the limitation of decorative buildings it can be used with some flexibility. I like to group this one with more European inspired worlds.
    3. Henford on Bagley is also inspired by North Western Europe so they are in the same part of world.
    4. Potentially also evergreen harbour. Evergreen harbour pass as a European location without problems. One of the new neighbourhoods in the new world is described as an industrial city centre.

So those are 4 instead of just two possible candidates. I just can't decide. The sims geography in my game is not fixed in stone and can be changed to suit my needs anyway.

  • Vaguely Nordic world so realistically Windenburg and Henford are closest

Nordhaven being above them in, you guessed it, North direction.

also Occult worlds + granite falls is just magically close to everywhere on map, really. its like magical forest thats everywhere all at once

I'm placing Evergreen Harbor more in proximity of Brindleton Bay and Copperdale so I wouldn't count it as being close cause then again Copperdale is close to Yeehaw worlds due to build style 😅

Then again, if you take shortcut through some occult worlds it could be close 🤔

maybe thats why Vlads little town is always full of food

  • To me , not Henford, not even even close.

But Britchester and  Brindleton Bay in my own vision. No matter where those are supposed to be "for real"

  • I heard that Nord Haven can be a cold world with snow in the Winter.  So if I could do a create worlds map & move the locations of all my world I would have it near my other European Worlds.  Nord Haven would be neighbors to Windenburg, Brindleton Bay, Henford & Glimmerbrook.  My Forgotten Hollow would be neighbors with Moonwood Mill & Ravenwood.  And that would take care of my European Worlds.

  • Nordhaven is definitely Scandinavian inspired (I'm from Finland so this is my neck of the woods lol - Nord havn means North harbour in Danish), so the closest world in my head would be Windenburg (which I think as Germany/Central Europe). So, Nordhaven is up north. Windenburg to the south of it. Henford-on-Bagley and Britechester then in west as in UK.
