Infant cheat

If there is one, I surely haven't found it. Only my Sims' first child ever crawled and that was at the very last minute, as in the day before the Infant was to age up! I play on Long, and sometimes the Infant will suddenly reach a milestone while I was focusing on another member of this full household. I'm on Infant number six with the same parents. Five of the six have not crawled. I am hoping for this last one, she still has some time to go.

Hm. My infants always crawl and sit up and all of that stuff immediately, and play with toys and laugh, etc. I'm glad!! I don't like the whole working to raise kids aspect. Too much...work. :D What are most of the infants like? I'm a bit confused by the stuff I have read on the forums about this.

Each of the six infants I've had in my game have been different, as the game promises. Number Five, also known as Peter, is still difficult and he's a Toddler. As an Infant Andrew (the fourth child) Loved being held; Self-Soother and Picky Eater. His younger brother, Peter, mentioned above, was a Gassy Infant. He hated just about everything and the one food he actually liked gave him such gas, it was out of the question to let him eat it again. Ever. :open_mouth: Now, he Hates Wake Up, Hates Bedtime, Hates to be carried. Sheesh. He was the first one of this group to not achieve Top Notch Infant, too. He's going to be a hoot, when he's older. I play on Long and have to say many of the six have managed to achieve a milestone even when I wasn't looking. I do have autonomy on, which is a must for me with such a large household. I'm very much enjoying these Infants. It's fun for me to play them and have the parents interact to help them achieve lifting their heads up. (Seems to me babies in RL don't need our help for this, but I get it. It's a game and more fun to direct the parents to do such and such with baby).

@GalacticGal I definitely have autonomy on as well! I have some actions modded out with mccc like autonomous mean interactions, but I like for them to be able to do their own thing, including my selected sim.

I wonder if my infants are all similar bc I give them all the calm trait? But I wonder, is that what gives them their skills so immediately?

I can't say for certain. I do prefer the sunny trait to the others, but not every one of them has had that trait. I don't think I've ever chosen calm.

@GalacticGal Oh, I see, I looked it up - if you don’t have Growing Together, which I do not because I am not interested enough, then some milestones are unlocked automatically with infants. I’m definitely glad that I didn’t get the pack!!!! Although I never really considered it as an option.

There are a few mods to cheat milestones, but without mods it's not possible as far as I know!

I keep aging turned off most of the time. I guess you could use that like a cheat,

I think the first cheat for infants would be stopping them from needing 40 hours of sleep a day, I really have no idea why my infants (I have 4 as well as two new borns) actually need so much sleep, they wake, I change them, feed them, they play for 2 seconds then get all grumpy because they have been awake for too long, I haven't got the latest expansion pack mainly because I think EA has screwed up with the programming of this update, I love the addition of the infants, I used to like the toddlers, until this infant update, could just leave the toddlers to do their own thing and then play with them a couple of times a day and that kept them happy.

Now however it seems that unless a parent sim is with a toddler 24/7 the toddler gets all depressed, and just stands there constantly crying, I literally done every interaction I could with a toddler, then cuddled an infant and all of a sudden the toddler was crying because a parent sim wasn't interacting with the toddler anymore. It's gotten ridiculous.

Is there also a cheat to stop infants from having a MASSIVE hissy fit trying to get to sleep? It's so damned annoying putting an infant in the crib who massively needs sleep (I make sure the infant is seriously tired so it has a really long sleep), yet despite how tired the infant is, it has to have a hissy fit, and of course both parents decide to give themselves the stupid automatic job of "check infant" so damned annoying.

It's so stupid that one parent sim of mine was cuddling one new born, the other new born was asleep, then all of a sudden the parent sim gives it's self the automatic job to check "Crying baby" which there wasn't one, the one I was dealing with was happy, the other one was sleeping, then the sleeping one woke, waited about 5 seconds (real life time) then started crying.

Apologies, rant over, I have played this game in such a mundane way in order to relax, just doing the same things on a day-to-day basis, got very exited about the new update with infants, have played the game with infants since it first was released and now, I get more stressed with the game than trying to relax to it because the game now seems to specialise in ignoring the player and just doing what it wants to do....sorry rant actually over now

@Your_Nightmare There is an interaction to give the infant a nap. The parent will hold the baby while the infant sleeps. I'm not sure how long it takes but it's not too long and then you can get back to doing tummy time. Also the infant goes straight to sleep, no fussing.
