thank you for the info!! I appreciate it a ton. I did already spend a good chunk of time testing it but I'm not equipped to look under the hood ?so its good knowing specifically what the issue is. I'll keep emotional deaths off for now and maybe cross my fingers EA makes a basic adjustment.
As for what I found testing: With or without mods, including script mods and ALL cc, my sim was sometimes just doomed to die, it seems. Weirdly enough though, there were a couple of times its happened it did seem tied to something negative? like her house got dirty and after I cleaned it and the uncomfortable moodlet went away, the worst day ever one did as well. But there were also times nothing was wrong or could be fixed and no amount of pampering, before or after the moodlet, could change her fate. It was just a case of whether she was lucky enough to live through the full buff.
I think it's funny there's people in here claiming I don't like challenge considering I have a save where I've literally been playing with every lot challenge on, lol. Challenge is fine. Getting locked into one extreme outcome with no way to navigate or manage it though? How is that fun? Like genuinely, it sounds like a lot of you haven't run into the same specific problem but you're so sure I'm just not dealing with it right or I'm lying about what mods I have or something and it feels... kind of silly? Maybe stop taking people's disappointment in one aspect of a product so personally?
Furthermore, one random consumer isn't personally responsible if EA decides to completely nerf and ruin the trait. A million random consumers aren't. Maybe direct your frustration at the company potentially cutting corners/being lazy rather than other frustrated consumers. Like I hope this isn't coming off rude, I was just honestly kind of surprise at the responses I came back to here!
As for everyone that just shared that they're enjoying the trait, I'm glad and I hope you keep having fun with it!! Even though it didn't have as much depth as I would like, it was still overall fun until this issue with this specific buff. Ppl that just genuinely tried to help me out are cool too lol.
