Is anyone else having issues packing sack lunches?

I'm having an issue in my game since the recent update in some households (but not all households) wherein packing a sack lunch glitches out, and leaves the sack lunch suspended in the air and unable to be put into a sim's inventory. I confirmed that this happens for those households even when no mods are installed, so it is not a mod issue.

My workaround right now is to take a group meal to another location where packing into sack lunches works...and packing lunches for the whole week, which I then keep in their refrigerator. But still, it's annoying.

So, I'm asking here, if those of you who frequent the forums could try packing a sack lunch and seeing if you have the error too....and then add a "me too" at this bug report thread.
It doesn't have enough Me too's, imo...and I'm thinking it's because a lot of people just don't regularly do sack lunches so haven't tried since the most recent game update.

@Stormkeep I have been having this issue for a while now. Just decided to troubleshoot it since I don't use the pack lunch feature often. The sack ends up floating in air in my game. I play a heavily modded/cc'ed game and assumed it was a conflict somewhere. I clicked the "me too" button in the link you provided. Thanks for sharing. Your post helped me to avoid going through the 50/50 drama.

  • I don't ever use the sack lunch option. I'd rather have them go to a restaurant.
  • I had this happen too. Though I admit she was trying to steal other people's food lol. Kinda thought that was causing the glitch but seems like it wasn't so and is actually more wide spread. I hardly ever use the feature so it has kinda escaped my notice.

  • Yeah I've had this happen as well on occasion. It was in the BFF's household and I was just thinking it was something to do with the home or something. Just a floating lunch in mid-air.

I also had something weird with lunches happen in the Watson household but I don't quite remember what it was.
  • Happened to me yesterday too (I imagine this is probably a much bigger issue but as people rarely make sack lunches we just dont know!).
No CC or mods in game and I dont think I even used MOO in the area as all it contained was a picnic table and BBQ!

Carl has a fix for this now until EA fixes it https://www.patreon.com/posts/68267122
  • I did have an issue when my sims would leave the paper box on the counter, but I could not drag it into inventory. They themselves couldn’t as well. They only action they could do was unpack it and eat it. Then the plate could be washed. I’m on console by the way so definitely a bug. Haven’t play with lunch since last update, but I will check it out next time I open the game.

I haven’t come across the issue myself. But often I use the free snacks or when I send them to cook, it’s just a single serving. I cancel any group servings Sims go to make.

The only issue I have around food, is sometimes Sims making a dish but they go off to do something else. They are hungry. I have to tell them to eat the dish.

As most of my houses don’t get stoves I don’t whether that is a factor.

I prefer stoves in houses with higher cooking skills as it’s like a challenge for them to earn it. (sometimes I forget to take the stove out from a gallery house)

  • I did today. I sent my sim with a packed lunch to work, when their hunger went up ( I assume by using the packed lunch), they immediately came home early from work. The lunch was missing from their inventory.

Works fine for me. She was able to make peanut butter and jelly and when she was done she bagged and set it on the table, no problems. I had her grab and put it in the refrigerator, no problems. And she was able to take it out and put it in her inventory still no problems.

Now, we need to talk about her skills in the kitchen.....because I don't know where she got the idea, but I don't ever recall using tomatoes in my PB&J.? Oh, those wacky sims.

I thought it was just me. I had all three of my kids pack their lunches for school and they were all suspended in the air. The only option I had, I think, was to unpack them. Nothing else worked.
