- nh66503 years agoSeasoned AceI get the same error as I'm trying to install sims3 packs on the app. Sims 4 showed up fine but it said Sims 3 is in my collection so I had to download it. It took all night to download some of it.
Now I keep getting that error and cannot continue to download The Outdoor Living Stuff add on.
Update. Everything else got downloaded and installed fine except for that one pack. - pipersfun23 years agoNew AceI wasn't having a problem UNTIL the update! it is taking FOREVER to download the update, seriously a long friken time. Not impressed with the new system.
- SAME! What a mess!
- You may want to go over to the EA website and do a search or create a post about what issues that you are having with the new EA app... :)

I was having a problem with the update as well. It was in processing for over 30 minutes. I cancelled it and opened origin to update my game. But now I'm skeptical about updating in the future on the EA desktop app. - Stormyweather433 years agoSeasoned AceI posted this on another thread about the ea app. When origin was having issues back about 2 months ago, I download the app and was able to play fine even though it forced me to get the buggy patch that came out with hsy. Anyhow I used it for a day and then game started crashing like every half hour. So I switched back to origin and have had no issues of crashing. Hearing that the app was going to replace Origin later this year, I redownloaded the app, and fired up the game. It worked ok, and I have my game running in the background while I do other things on here, and after about 5 hours my game froze. First day I reinstalled which is just sad. Since then I went back to origin and no crashing or freezing. If they are going to take away origin as an option, they better do something, because I can't play a game that is going to freeze every day after a few hours or have crashing issues.
- GalacticGal3 years agoLegendI did nothing more that try to open my Beta App version, it went into update mode and then when I opened it my base game was all that was there. I was able to play my game, and to my intense relief, all of my packs, were indeed available. I never attempted to install my game anew. Perhaps, that's where things went wonky? I'm not all that tech-savvy. But I am sorry to hear you're having problems.
- No issues at all with Sims 4 or 2 but 3 is a bit of a mess.

Tell me, did you already have Sims 2 & 3 installed? I don't currently have anything but Sims4 installed. I have the option on the old Origin to install the Sims2 Collection, which was a relief since my ex-daughter-in-law allowed my baby grandson to destroy my base game disk for Sims2. Face/palm. I may never play it again, but I would certainly like the option. I was wondering if it is wise to download and install it now, before the old Origin gives way to the new app? - djsboonie3 years agoSeasoned Ace@GalacticGal I installed Sims 2 on the EA App & when I first tried running it it seemed to freeze. However I found out after some checking that it can take up to 10 minutes for game to load the first time; so I waited about seven minutes & the game loaded. Haven't had a chance to actually play though. Two other things: the graphics change to a very low resolution (circa 1990s) and if you have the Ultimate Collection the game icon may say Double Deluxe, but it is the Ultimate Collection.
