I have for rent installed. I play tiny houses and don't play in the new world. I haven't had any save corruption and I think the bugs happened to me in playing rental lots and living in the new world.
I do use the nosy and cringe traits, break ins, and discover secrets. I don't get any bugs in my game. And sense I turned on fame my spell caster is working fine. ( I also use the water heater, air conditioner, and grill heater, with no problems. )
If I feel like experiencing the rental disasters, I use the gremlins and the mold lot challenges which can be used on a tiny lot. Granted I do turn them off after one disaster because otherwise it happens every night. So I turn those lot challenges off and on in my game.
I have the rental events turned on in my game's settings but I don't play as a tenant or be a landlord.
Note: If playing a residential lot, the maintenance troubles lot challenge is only text based, and while it's happening you can't go into build mode, plus you have to wait 24 in game hours before the event ends (then) you get a text saying it fixed itself. You only get the visuals like the stove exploding on a rental residential lot while playing as a tenant or landlord.
