Is For Rent safe to play if I don't play on a rental lot?

I purchased For Rent, but haven't really been playing it because of the bugs and save corruption. I've been getting the itch to play the Sims 4 again, but I don't want to deal with the save corruption...

Wow, thank you for all of the thoughtful replies! Everyone was so helpful :)
I'll have to jump back into my game soon. I'm just going to avoid building any new rental properties until the new patch comes out, and I will definitely be saving as "Save As" for the future.
Looking forward to playing my old save again!
