Is Get Famous just being an actor?

From what I understand, there’s 1 new career, and in this career you can choose the Actor path or the Influencer path.

Is this something they have actually stated or is this an inference you've made from the information we have so far? Because I'm not sure how that would work, since it seems like we have a fame system, so that would imply there are levels to fame. If this is true, would reaching this "level 11" just be one way to reach the first level of fame?

The acting career looks good. what is this about all careers getting one extra level please?

That's interesting with the level 11 thing, though it makes sense. Celebrity chef/mixologist are already the top of the culinary career. It would be cool to see NPCs actually recognize my supposed celebrity-status Sims. As it is, I just get a message sometimes when they're at work saying that a fan wanted an autograph.

I have to wonder how being a top-level spy would work with being famous. Or being a top-level criminal, since the entire point of both professions is to be really good at what you do without people being able to find you.

Where did you get this information? I haven't seen it anywhere.

"Just being an actor" would be a weak rehash of the active careers in GTW. Since this is a full EP instead of just a GP, it's safe to assume that fame is a much broader stat. You'll have to be famous to get promoted in the acting career, but otherwise the fame mechanic is its own separate thing.

I really hope that fame is just part of a broader reputation mechanic, to function as something similar to memories. (Specifically, so that sims can remember things that other sims have done.) That would justify it being broad and overarching enough to be full EP quality. Right now we just have one trailer, a blog, and a few guru clarifications to work off of, so there's little that can be conclusively said.

Also, an 11th level and that's the only way to get famous....I don't like it. It's not a good system for me.

I think it's less an additional level, but an additional track alongside your standard career where you earn fame through different activities.

So fame isn't just limited to acting -- any career could gather fame.

It hasn't been confirmed if you have to be working a job to be famous, or you can gain fame in other ways, maybe a famous explorer/philanthropist who donates artifacts to the Simsonian, or if you can become famous as a freelance writer or painter rather than working the career.

So if it's tied to skills alongside careers, you could be a famous writer or painter without ever dipping a toe into the related careers. My writers frequently start out with the Painter aspiration so they can write any of the "emotional" books like Playful or Romance regardless of their actual emotion. Gives more variation in writing genres.
