All packs are worth it no matter what. 😇
I like it, but it is one of those packs where it is a bit hard pointing out exactly what I like :) The infants are a great feature, and the pack adds a lot more than was patched with the base game. I also like that there are more defined relations within a household, and the compatibility. Can't recall whether these were patched with basegame too, but they are more fletched out with the pack. I like San Sequoia world too, knowing many simmers find it a tad boring. Guess it depends on what you do with the lots, and how you play.
The thing I'm not so happy about is the milestones. If you play just one family they might be interesting, but to me - playing 725 sims they get way too detailed. And they are annoying in the simology tab as they occupy so much space, but at least they don't interfere with general game play. To me they are resource hoggers that I never use.
Sounds like you play the game with family focus, so I'm sure you will like this pack :)
I'm a family player as well and would not want to play without this pack again. I love milestones, compatibility and characteristic preferences. I also like the addition of midlife-crisis and work rivals. I love what the pack adds to infant gameplay and looks.
I tweaked some things with mods, but there's nothing in this pack that absolutely requires you to use mods to make it enjoyable.
I'd say if you are okay with it basically being Base Game .02, go for it.
Both CAS and BB are really nice imo.
I'm not the biggest fan of the world that comes with the pack, though.
