Is imgur unreliable for you?

I have issues with it now and then but not lately. I don't post that many pictures though so maybe I don't use it enough?

I was having a ton of issues. I switched to IMGUR after Flickr was sold by Yahoo! to SmugMug, and was really restrictive without "PRO". IMGUR worked fine for 2-3 years, and then here lately it was slow and got really pushy with the "Emerald" option. I finally said to heck with IMGUR and paid up for the PRO option on Flickr. I find Flickr much easier to use. If you ask my opinion, IMGUR is more a social site than it is photo hosting.

I have it open right now too....but it took me 4 tries, and I had to wait 5 minutes

I had not had trouble with it for a long time but it was having technical difficulties when I tried to log in yesterday.

I haven't posted pics in a while because of this.

Last time I used it was two days ago after not opening it for several months and it was working fine, don't know about now.

I see I'm not the only one that's noticed this. I wonder what the deal is? Do they have limited bandwidth that can't handle heavier volumes of traffic?

I haven't used it it because it demands my phone number to create an account, I don't feel that it needs or should have my phone number to create an account so we are at an impasse. Can you create an account without giving it a phone number? Or are there better options out there?

I had to give mine, I don't think there's a way around it. I totally agree that it's unnecessary. They say it's just for verification purposes, but that could be done just as easily via email
