Yeah, I tried the jealousy trait, and I think it's a bit of a miss. If the partner is not right next to them, even if they're in the same lot, they get the "it's not rational, but if you don't know where they are, you don't know who they're with" or whatever the wording is. I think again that they're missing out on actual human reaction (please start consulting an expert on this, devs).
What would be cool:
If it's just the two of them on the same lot, all is fine. If the partner sim is talking with someone who is the preferred gender, have the jealous sim have a "hyper alert" type of either tense or angry buff. You know, a "What did s/he mean? Are they losing interest in me?" type buff.
When the love interest is on a different lot, have a phone option to "call and check up on."If the partner calls too many times, say, when the partner is at work, have the partner get a "tense" moodlet but that would have the jealous sim lose their tense buff for an hour or two -- perhaps a happy, "S/he is right where they say they are. It was silly to be worried." Also, if the partner has a social network (a charisma option), have the jealous partner have a computer option, "Check social network" with that being a coin toss of either happy "That was reassuring," or tense/angry/sad "who is that picture with?"
This trait could have been awesome. Autonomous checking and calling and even looking under the bed. Instead, it's more like a permanent tense buff.
