is it possible to delete/add relationships after Royalty&Legacy?

Is it not possible to delete/add a family relationship after the R&L update? if so, why isn’t this considered a bug?

MCCC was the most efficient way to do so, as going into cas you get “cannot edit pre-existing sims” but deaderpool released a statement saying they were removing the feature due to R&L. I’ve searched the internet for an alternative and found nothing, so does anyone know a solution? I was trying to remove a parent/child relationship so I could add a new one (Birth parents of an adopted child) but cannot figure out how. 

The best solution I can think of is to save everyone in the family to the gallery individually and THEN add family relationships but then all other relationships, degrees, milestones, etc will be lost and have to be replaced so I don’t want to do that and then it not even work..
