It's not so much that it's too easy to make money. It's that there aren't enough high priced items to spend money on. The higher bills and thermostat are a step in the right direction but because in some case the increase is pretty extreme there's a chance the thermostat's impact will get nerfed.
It would be great if there were pricey cars, the ability to purchase second homes, and having to pay for private school/university. Also I'd love it if we could purchase community lots as investments to provide an ongoing income stream without having to "work" the business.
