And loading screens are an big step back as well and yes Sims 4 is nothing more than an art show and while I may agree I do like the build mode and CAS, I do not not wish to stay in that mode. There are an lot of trade offs in Sims 4 that makes the game less than stellar. as far as multitasking goes in Sims 3 the game is older and the feature did not exist but Sims 4 does lack features that was present in older versions so that does not speak volumes for Slim 4. EA/Maxis deserves no kudos from me for various reasons. When they add an option for neighborhood expansion and creator with lot reediting tools then Sims 4 may have my attention but until then Slim 4 is an cotender.
