Is Swimming In the Cold Weather Second Nature to a Sim?

I've caught my Sims' children floating on their backs in the pool, in the midst of a snowstorm. Although it's Spring in my game, the temperature is cold, rainy and not too pleasant. I just caught Erik carrying his youngest child, a Toddler, to place her in the Kiddie pool. Seriously? It's cold and raining. Erik where did you learn how to parent? Or is he just getting her used to it because it's a normal and natural thing for Sims to do? :open_mouth: Oi!

Thanks for letting me vent my spleen. :)

i really hate the autonomy of this game and there is a perfect example why. it does the stupidest thing imaginable where it make no sense what so ever. If anyone has ever found a way to reprogramme the autonomy altogether on this game, please let me know, i'd pay good money to get access to it so i can give it actual commands that makes sense for any given situation, and it won't continue to repeat the same instruction you keep cancelling either.

@Hoverael MC Command Center, MC Tuner module can disable autonomy actions. https://deaderpool-mccc.com/#/doc/mc_tuner
  • Some of mine seem determined to become Simsicles. I mean, eating ice cream outside in the snow while wearing short sleeves? Sunbathing in a blizzard? (Really, Tristan? You’re supposed to have sense!)

There is not much to go on in that, i've been through it when setting it up after the last time i lost my data, about 5,000 hours back of game play. the settings are same after looking at it again. there is nothing in there for half the things that is wrong with the autonomy of this game anyhow.

I have to fence in the pool during the colder parts of the year so that everyone doesn't eat every meal sitting on the side of the pool with their feet in the water and turning blue.

Just discovered this. My sim got a cupcake from the fridge then proceeded to walk to the other end of the 64 x 64 lot so they could sit with their feet in the pool....in winter.
Whats more galling is that I gave them the genius trait!

Apparently, your Sims' household doesn't have the same rules regarding the pool as my late parents had in place. No eating in or very near the pool. That meant, no sitting on the coping (the pool material the edged it) or else. ;) Don't worry, my Sims dangle their feet in the pool while doing homework. I've been rather alarmed when I catch the youngsters in the pool in the wintry spring they're having, too. :open_mouth:

If you add geothermal trait to your lots, the pools will keep warm in winter. Also, if you set swimsuit as cold weather outfit, sims won't freeze as long as they are wearing said swimsuit.

What? Is that from EL? I don't have that EP, but thanks for the tip. :)
