I have a list of content that I want to get, to add to my Sims experience. But the content that one already has does impact how one plays the game.As an example, if we only look at expansions, in my case that would be: City Living, Get to Work, High School Years, Life & Death, and Seasons. From these, we could have a High School student that spends there evenings working fast food, who lives in an apartment with their parents, and becomes a ghost by freezing to death at the love festival (a sad thing, as they were there to find their crush).What is your experience?

I think it might reflect your playstyle, but not necessarily for long. I myself skipped every other DLC pack that did not appeal to me minimum 75%. But as the years go, I found excuses to get the packs anyway, Ie the High school years, I never played as a student and probably never will, but I had great fun from making up Copperdale's history and fill the lots. So, I own the pack but it actually has no relevance to my gaming style. If we live long enough we might all end up with most of the content anyway :)

I mainly purchase packs for bb items, cas and the world. Lovestruck might be the last pack I mainly bought in the recent years for its gameplay and I’m loving it 😁

Not for me. If I only played just on base of one particular content theme; I would only have Get Together, Cottage Living, Vampires, Realm of Magic, Werewolves, Paranormal, Crystal Creations, Spooky and Life & Death Packs.I would miss out on the fun Sci-Fi Packs, Family Packs, Seasonal Packs & Everything in-between Packs.

As I'm a builder, I mainly buy packs for the build items/style, but I also am a completionist, so I like packs for the world, the traits, aspirations, skills etc. However I don't buy kits because I think they shouldn't be a thing, they should be updates to different packs (just adding more build/cas items). For example; Industrial Loft in City Living, Country Kitchen in Cottage Living, Modern Luxe (and Vintage Glamour) in Get Famous, Pastel Pop in High School Years, Poolside Splash in Island Living, Riviera Retreat in My Wedding Stories etc.Back to your question, sorry about the rant, I do buy packs depending on how much I like/want them. Whenever I buy a pack, I think it will impact my game so much but I end up not feeling inspired to build, does anyone know how to help me overcome perfectionism or creative block.

That's an interesting question.As a completionist I own a lot of different DLC. I don't know how much they reflect me. I am mainly eclectic and use a little bit of everything. For example I like the retail function from get to work but have not yet played a single police officer or doctor in the 6 years that I own the pack. When I build or create a sim I use tiny bits of several packs. Nearly all have at least something on offer that interests me. As a completionist I mainly focus on gameplay. What does a certain DLC allow me to do. I will never have all kits. But the bigger packs that offer new possibilities are so tempting. Perhaps my playstyle is mostly seen when I answer the 'which DLC is your favourite' questions. I mainly like magical or supernatural gameplay, something that triggers my imagination. I tend to go back and forth between family gameplay and goal oriented stories (university, climbing Mt komorebi, exploring the jungle,...) So I do like a little bit of everything, but always with a spellcaster, werewolf, mermaid,...

With all the bugs this game has, I have Iearned to (dress) buy for success. Everything in life that you purchase is a reflection of you.
I buy for my playstyle and I want to reflect my playstyle with the DLC that I purchase. Yes. It's personal.

In a way since you can't play with what you don't have
but then again I've bought so many packs for all iterations of the game
that I couldn't say all of them are reflective of my playstyle 😂

I also just like playing with things outside my spooky bubble too
keeps things from becoming all too repetitive in there

Yes and no, the content I have purchased does impact on how I play, but I also have so many packs already that I don't use all of them every time I play or use only some parts of them. So the packs alone don't tell much about my play style, I think.
If I look at the packs I haven't purchased (at least not yet) I guess that might tell a little bit about my play style. For example I don't have For Rent, High School Years, Get to Work and Dream Home Decorator. Maybe missing For Rent and DHD tells I'm not much of a builder or decorator (though I do that too). I also have heard HSY has a great BB, but it is not enough for me to get it (not a builder). Also maybe missing Get to Work and HSY tells I'm not very much into active careers or active high school? I don't know.

I am a legacy player, and enjoy a lot of the gameplay we have. But there is also a lot of gameplay I have never used. There are features I've never had turned on. I have absolutely bought packs solely for the world and BB. And I only even own 2 CAS kits, which I bought because I was re-creating the Urbz to go with their lots that I was building.
