Is there a point in achievements?

I have had to uninstall and reinstall my game a few times. I'm getting used to seeing these 'awards' notices. One of the funniest ones is getting notified of an achievement when a Sim reaches bladder failure in a lot that has over four bathrooms. :open_mouth: Not my fault the less than brilliant AI of this game makes my Sim (on full autonomy) hold their water until they just can't anymore. They could be standing right next to the downstairs bathroom, too. Not more than two steps away! Face/palm.

I don't really see the point in these, either. I see it more for the younger players, quite frankly. I'll be hitting the ripe old age of 65 in a matter of weeks, and I just don't need these little achievements. I know when I've had a good or bad gaming session. It's not like I can print the awards and paste them on the wall by my gaming computer for all to see. Yeah, that bathroom one would be funny … do wish I could recall the name of said failure. It's really more like 'roasting' the player. All-Nighter is amusing, too. LOL I guess if we just take them as the lark they are — a chance to laugh at ourselves … Other than that, all I can say is the devs have a peculiar sense of humor.

I forgot these existed.

In Sims 3, your achievements gave you a badge on your page. If they could tie that in somehow, put them on our gallery pages, it would be a little more than just the notification we get now. I agree they feel a little pointless. Like a lot of things, it seems like a half-finished idea. Potential, but not much on its own.
