Is there a way to turn off those annoying NAPs?

Am finding those things to be of no positive value whatsoever, rather an annoyance that makes playing the game more difficult. At best they are stupid and useless (like wearing paper bags). Is there...

Turning off voting will stop the game from enacting new NAP but the current ones will remain active. You can disable them with cheats. First you have to enter the 'testingcheat on' then shift+click on the mailbox or voting board to instantly repeal them.

Note : your played sims can still vote for NAP if you want. You have total control of the number of votes. With NAP voting disabled you will still get a pop up once a week about voting but if you didn't vote yourself no new NAP will be enabled.
