Is there any gameplay value to a museum?
I have been checking out my EA-placed museums, and they just seem to have a few paintings and sculptures that you can "view". Is there some advantage to having them or visiting them? Has anyone done...

On its own, without any tampering or changing anything, and if you aren't an artist or getting married, then not really. I've played since launch and I went to the museum one time just to see what it was like, after that I haven't been back.
