- Just got Get To Work and I just opened my store. Just about every person in my store was a kleptomaniac, and I just saw them swiping and swiping my art. I think they stole like 6 paintings and there was nothing I could do about it. Telling them to leave (even the mean Go Away) wouldn't work. They just kept stealing.
Please EA, do something about it! It's seriously dampening my fun! - SilentK0086 years agoSeasoned AceHmm...
Yeah, the gameplay with running retail and having klepto-customers seems to be lacking. Because there is nothing that you can do about it. If I could do something, either in advance, during or after to either stop it from happening again, track down my stolen items or just ask the cops to confront the thief if I caught them in the act then it would be interesting.
Stand there watching your stuff getting nicked... again and again and again.... that is less fun and just irritating.
How about:
- Installing cameras for the floor
- Being able to call the cops right after the crime
- Being able to call the cops when you notice that a few items are missing and they come over for investigation
- I would love it if my hot-headed sim could yell at them and make them return the stuff
I really like that the klepto-sim swipes things, it is a trait that interacts with the world. Just wish that it meant that I could do stuff too. - > @SilentKitty said:

This. Yes please.
My way to deal with it now is: I have the reward trait where my sims can see all the traits of the person just by meeting them. So I welcome the customer and when they have the kleptomaniac trait, I ask them to leave. That kind of works, and they do leave. But the annoying thing is, that I have to stop my sales action. It slows everything down so much. - annaliese396 years agoSeasoned Ace

Yes to all of this! Another reason we need more NPCs like police (and robbers) to arrest and handcuff these pesky thieves. I would also love it if sims, perhaps with high fitness skill or certain traits like hot-headed or brave, could take the thief down themselves.
