Is there anyway to make the seasons longer?

It seems ridiculously fast to have your entire Autumn in three weeks on the calendar. Or maybe that's just my way of playing but I would prefer a longer experience. Obviously maybe some people like to see time zip by like that but I'd prefer to enjoy each season longer. Seems like we had ways in the past to assign numbers of days to each season but maybe that got in the way of assigning the holidays. Also, should the rock climbing wall explode when the rain comes? You'd think they'd make those things more sturdy to withstand climate change (or maybe that's only if you buy the extended warranty package)

  • As of now, 28 days is the max count for seasons...so up to four weeks per season.

If I remember correctly, we could choose the number of days in a season in sims 3, but there was a limit. I want to say the cap for each season was like 25 or 27 days or something like that.

Haha I will have to check out the rock climbing wall to see if I get a similar result. Haven't heard that one yet!

How are you setting Fall to three weeks? There isn't any three week option, but there is one, two and four. The rock climbing wall probably was struck by lightning. I've seen quite a few objects get destroyed by lightning.
  • @FlamingoKicker1 yes, your rock wall is meant to explode in the rain. All electronics in the game not under a roof are now ruined by the rain.
  • On the plus side, an overhang is all it takes to protect items, it seems. So you don't need to fully enclose them in a room.

Can't wait to try this! Haha
  • So, how do you make an overhang which will clear the top of the climbing wall though? I tried extending a balcony outside to cover it and it wouldn't let me cause it is too tall. Unlike Sims 4 we don't have those super tall columns yet. I've even tried moveobjects cheat and it doesn't seem to allow you to "force" the structures to allow the climbing wall to violate the structure of your house. Normally with cheats at least you could fake it and you'd be able to have the thing poking out of the floor above or something but strangely not now.

    Thank you for the Heads-up!
  • I tried making a basement and thinking maybe the balcony overhang would suffice but the game wouldn't let me move the wall back under the overhang for some weird reason (maybe you can't have an open basement ...a pit really... just out in your yard. But I'll try adjusting the roof overhang and see how that works.
