When I was a kid, my brother used to make a household of toddlers in panda onsies, 1 ghost parent if he didn't glitch the game somehow and have 8 toddlers, and made them all live in a box with no windows. He also gave them all the same name? This was Sims 3. He did this in every new save, and made new saves often. TBH I don't even find -that- weird, just different. So, no, what you're doing isn't weird at all! I actually think it's pretty interesting. I used to try to make my sim's eyes as Sims-3-Alien as possible, have 1-4 children, age them instantly to YA, and abandon the save. Everyone plays the sims differently!
I would try the scenarios though they're pretty fun lol
