If you don't feel like playing then don't. But if you want to play, but not with this particular household yet, start a new save without them. By having different saves for different times you can play (and delete and create and play again if you want) as many times as you want. You can just avoid that particular save until you have fairies in game.

Or, if you mostly want the look for fairies, there are several mods/CC that will add them in game until there is real ones in the game.
