And for some reason, she still got an F in both of her classes! I find this really odd considering she almost did anything she could.
I was having the same issue until I made a new character with all cheats on just to learn how this pack worked and what I learnt is:
-Research & Debate skill is actually important and worth leveling if you're going to uni, as it seems to have an impact on how well your research and studying goes. With the archive machines, you can learn your course skill AND Research & Debate, so it's worth.
-Go see your professors out of hours. Didn't even realise this was a thing the first time
-Study, study, study. Even if you don't think you need to study, study.
After I did these things, I got all A+'s. Bare in mind, since I was cheating to test things, I had motive decay off. Not tried it with motive decay on since I learnt this.
Barring that, probably just lowering your class load. I wanna do uni for a story at some point, and in a story setting I'm only going to do 1 or 2 classes per semester as it's just too difficult to have a social life AND study for four classes a semester

I don't think it's a bug. It's just the result of a poor design choice. In TS2: University and TS3: University Living, we had performance meters which showed us how well we were doing and what impact our study choices had. For some reason, the developers decided not to give us performance meters in TS4: Discover University, which results in some surprisingly poor grades.
I don't think this is necessarily a bad thing or a poor design choice. Real life doesn't have a meter to tell you you're doing well - you go by the advice of your teachers. The issue is the lack of clear defined goals which is what The Sims 2 in particular had. If you leveled your required skills, attended your classes, wrote your term paper, you'd always get at least a passing grade, even if you completely ignored the progress meter. My big issue with TS2's University pack however is that it was too easy and gave you way too much time to do everything AND have a life, my issue with this one is it's too hard and you don't have enough time. The Sims 3 gets it just right in my opinion.

As for emailing the professor about the grades, I personally didn't try it, but other people with the same problem did and everytime, the professor would tell them they're the best in their class, just for them get a D or worse at the end of the term.
Huh. That's weird. This isn't what I was getting. I was just getting grades below C despite doing all homework and presentations, term papers, and studying.

Take Notes is the most effective study tone.
This I didn't know about. How do you do this?

Britechester (and Foxbury) is the worst place to live if you want to get good grades. Anywhere else you just have to leave your home lot.
I quickly realised campuses were a waste of time unless you want the aesthetics for a let's play or story.

When you become a seasoned member you get credit for your grades for attending your organization events!
Neat. I actually have a reason to join these now without the potential of failing all of my classes for it.

Absolutely not. DU is the ONLY pack including the base game that has anything even remotely like a challenge. It is the only pack so far that therefore even remotely remind me of Sims 2 or 3 gameplay wise.
I play The Sims 2 the most out of all of the games and The Sims 4 the least, and I can tell you by a longshot this is a lot harder to micromanage than anything in The Sims 2. In fact, I modded The Sims 2 University to make it harder as it was so easy and I was getting everything done on the first day of term.

However, if you truly do "everything right" and get an F, you have a bug. Or more than one. Or incompatible mods that screws things up. Or both.
My bet, however is that you still do something wrong.
I have gone thru Uni 4 times now in the Sims, and the only time I got an F was in the first playthru, in one class one semester so I had to retake that class. That's it. The worse I have ended up as final grades at graduation was an average of A-.
Well grats I guess, good for you. I don't use mods for The Sims 4 and mostly play The Sims 2 and 3 and found DU to be a ridiculous step up in micromanagement and difficulty to anything I'd played in any of the games. It was almost as bad as The Sims 1, where as soon as you've filled a need, another one has fallen - this was the level of issue I had with DU. As soon as I'd do anything to work towards my degree for a little bit, I'd need to fill all my needs, and by the time I filled them I'd have to go to class already. And yet despite being that strict with my schedule, I was still getting Ds and Fs and flunked after 2 semesters.
I think maybe the pack has some bugs that need to be ironed out if other people are having this same problem, because it really does just seem to be borderline random. I make mild changes and jump from a D to an A+ - that's not realistic.
