Thanks to regional pricing is cost me 54.59 on Origin (I'm in Canada) and ouch.
Yes I know that I could wait a few months and in the past I have, but I'm currently and actively playing the Sims 4 right now and get two weeks off starting June 24th. Of which is a staycation. So the timing was made for an inevitable buy.
Honestly though what really bugs me is that in a few months time this expansion pack will be half price.
Then on top of my regional pricing...I get this wonderful $2+ tax that makes no sense (the game is actually 51.99 before tax) because its way too low to be state or federal tax. Its just "a tax" % that EA has made up from all I can tell.
I dunno...I'm excited to play it and send my couple on vacation finally that doesn't involve creepy men in bear suits.
But..I just really hating paying this much and seeing it go on sale so for half the price. I wish there was more incentive to buy at full price with some kind of bonus or pre-order with early access.
Then again I did spend over $150 on pizza's over the last 3 months...and that just flushes down the toilet XD
UPDATE:
OK so apparently its been brought to my attention that its actually cheaper to buy it at ebgames (39.99) then online directly in Canada. This makes absolutely not sense to me since if EA is marking games at 39.99 for retailers and using regional pricing online - so it makes no sense to buy Sims expansions, ect directly from origin digitally even though you'd THINK you'd save money as EA is saving money too.
Just wow. Lesson learned.
I’m wondering if it could have anything to do with tariffs. Everything here in California seems to be going up.....still $39.99 for the Expansions though. I doubt when sims 5 comes out they will be that cheap though.
