I strongly disagree. Shallow is what you make it. Not like Sims was super deep or had great game play either; but people told stories that gave the game depth. The point of the game is to create sims and stories how you want it or otherwise it would be an RPG.
That's such a bull argument. How can you create stories if there are no gameplay to create with? I'm not playing with barbies here, I'm playing a game that should have content. And the RPG comment is so wrong - previous iterations didn't have these problems we see now, and they were FAR from being RPGs. This pack is not only shallow, it's a complete joke - it's like they went out of their way to cut out things that would have made it decent? I mean, what game dev thinks it's a good idea to NOT have a mermaid transformation animation? There's something wrong or missing with pretty much EVERY feature in this pack - the only thing that is well done is the design. I bet it's because they can't skimp on design, otherwise they couldn't get any good promotional pictures without straight lying. Not they aren't lying anyway - it wasn't fans that was saying that mermaids could indirectly kill sims - it was the gurus. They straight up showed it in the stream and talked about it. For shame!
It's ok to like the pack, but there's no point in pretending it has tons of features or that it isn't shallow and half baked. It's ridiculous.
It is 100% valid and not any more bull than your complaints. If mine is not valid, than either is yours.
There is plenty of game play and the stories is just like every sims game, you decide what they want to do. It has always been that way as it meant to give players control and do what they can't.
I am so tried of this bullying and shaming and no longer backing down. This not the feedback/complaint forum and beyond sick of how you treat Sims 4 and yet conveniently ignore all the problems with Sims 3 or that fact they aren't all that deep on their own either.
I'm not bullying you, neither is anyone else, we're just having different opinions and perspectives, since we played all the previous iterations. Secondly, I never even mentioned Sims 3, and that game is NOT what I compare Sims 4 to - it's Sims 2 actually, and the difference is HUGE. Sims 4 doesn't have the 10th of the depth that Sims 2 has gameplay wise. If you think Sims 4 sims have personalities, that's good for you, but for A LOT of simmers, we just can't feel that way, because we played sims with SO much more depth and SO much more personalities. I can agree that it is about perspective, and that it's relative to what you're used to. But oh man, is the difference HUGE.
The truth is, my sims I play in Sims 4 all act the same - in Sims 2 that wasn't the case - they had their own unique personalities and they actually remembered things and acted accordingly. If you don't want to 'back down' then you're gonna have to get used to people disagreeing with you and correcting things you're saying that is plain wrong - a lot of this isn't even opinion based, it's actual facts - because we can compare the difference in interactions and animations between the games. Some of it is HOW they were implemented, and that is where Sims 2 just shines so much brighter. But even if Sims 4 never could be that - it could definitely be A LOT better, and it doesn't excuse the horrible, bad content we're getting with this pack. It's just not the quality you should expect from a company as big as EA.
In essence, I'm not really comparing the games as much as seeing the potential of Sims 4, and wanting it to be at least somewhat decent. I'm not expecting much here - just some damn effort. :D
