I'd go with Snowy Escape not even a question Island Living really adds nothing especially if you play in one of the older worlds such a poorly done expansion.
I've never understood comments like this. It's called Island Living, not suburban living. If you're not interested in living on an island, or playing with island related gameplay, then why buy a pack that is about that? It'd be like buying Generations and then complaining that it adds nothing as all the gameplay is for families and you don't play with families...
That reminds me! If you buy a pack, you have to take full responsibility for it, for example, when I bought Island Paradise, that meant I'd be aware of it's lag and that I shall not get mad over it if it happened. I found out a way to make it playable but still. You also need to do research before buying a pack so you won't get disappointed after you buy it. No one is forcing you to buy DLC, if you end up disliking it, that's on you. You shouldn't get mad at yourself just because you haven't done proper research on it.
That’s an interesting viewpoint.
Advertising can also pull you in. It’s a powerful tool.
Like I was taken in by the trailer for Eco Lifestyle, it looked like the theme was cleaning up Evergreen Harbour and your Sim was a sort of hero. I loved the idea of returning to your hometown and start changing things for the better. I totally bought that pack without really looking into it.
When I started playing it, I found the sim in the trailer wasn’t in the world and it was more build mode items and the NAPs that influenced the changes. Plus everything tends to neutral so changes are short lived.
I tried to do the same thing Plumbella did in building loads of industrial fires to pollute one zone but little effect. It was industrial wallpaper and flooring that swung it ?. Also no trees, bushes or flowers on the lot.
I had to disable NPC voting as the sharing is caring and free love got picked constantly and without cheats your Sim wouldn’t have much luck in overtaking the most popular choice.
The best thing I ever did was remove Eco Lifestyle ?l
I miss a lot of the furniture though.
So I’m much more careful when seeing trailers as a result of my experience.
