I'm having a huge issue. My game will no longer start at all. If the game manages to go through the load menus (most of the time it just stalls at random places during start-up and never responds) and I get to Windenburg, the game will then freeze if I try to select a house or place a restaurant. I'm not the best with stuff like this, so please forgive me if I sound dumb here. I have all the latest patches (including the one that downloaded today), but it's just not working. Any ideas? Do you have cc/mods in your game? If you do, move your mods folder to the desktop. Then start the game and test to see if the issue is still there.
Repairing the game may help. To do that, right click on the sims 4 picture in Origin and click repair.
Try resetting your sims 4 folder and see if that helps. To do that, move your sims 4 folder ( that is in Documents -Electronic Arts - then the sims 4 folder is there ) to the desktop. Then start the game, and a new sims 4 folder will be generated. Exit the game and then copy back the "options.ini" file and the "saves" , "screenshots" "tray" "custom music " and "mods" folders from the desktop sims 4 folder to the new sims 4 folder, replacing the new generated file/ folders with the old file/folders from the desktop sims 4 folder .
Try switching back to 32 bit mode and see if that helps. To do that ,
Go to My Games in Origin . Right click on The Sims 4 picture.
Click on “Game Properties”
Change the “When launching this Game” setting to “The Sims 4 32-bit”
