Congratulations on the straw man argument. No one is asking for new content "every month, or less."
It sure as heck feels like it, with all these morose threads, as soon as new content is out, there's always someone loudly begging for more, especially if the newest content wasn't up to expectations.
It has varied over time, but dating all the way back to Sims 1, it has been pretty typical to get new content _roughly_ every three months, or once a quarter.
I think you need to do some fact checking on that. I'm pretty certain new content was about every 6 months.

That doesn't look quarterly to me.
(I.e., about four new packs a year, often more.)
Dunno, maybe I can't count, but that sure looks like only two packs each year.
normally you would expect to see some sort of announcement right around now
... No.... I don't expect any announcements. I never expect announcements.
it has been traditional to receive hints or teasers of some kind well in advance of that point.
Has it? I don't spend my life glued to social media, so I wouldn't no about that.
Maybe people need to take a break from their devices, get out and appreciate the non-pixel world for a bit. Go camping, or fishing, or take a long walk.
Maybe a bit of a distraction would take peoples minds off this perceived lack of announcements.
and we miss it.
Absence makes the heart grow fonder?
What is the usual suggestion when someone is missing something/someone? Isn't it usually to get on with life, do other things, to make the time fly?
If that bothers you, don't read the posts.
Sounds more like other people need to take that advice. Since they're so bothered by no announcements?
