I wouldn't say it's ridiculous -- there are people who didn't get Seasons because their computers couldn't handle it, or they just weren't interested in adding weather to the game, but they'd like to know if there's anything new on the horizon that could impact their gameplay plans, especially from a storytelling aspect. I think it's still a bit early to hear about a new pack if they're planning a November release (for holiday/giftgiving) but they could maybe discuss new free features they're working on. Haven't taken note of @SimGuruNinja current avatar, but if it's got a new hairstyle maybe we'll get another free update pack -- could definitely use more masculine hair options.

What is that "good reason"? They want to spice things up and be unpredictable because a new trailer could drop anytime now? Is that the new "fun experience"? Looking at the forums it seems to have the opposite effect of fun... Of course it makes sense to not do a quarterly teaser when there's nothing to announce, but I don't understand how that affects all the other months where content is released and things could be teased at. And what is that new "format for sharing information"?

So they only take communication away, but don't add anything new. There are the Twitch streams, but afaik there's only been one until now and they only did some Let's Plays. They didn't give out any kind of informations. (Here's hoping that the Guru Garage stream next week will reveal something.) Even the Twitter conversations only happen once in a while and then it's just reduced to a bunch of "Maybe" and "It's a possibility"
And no, we don't get the same amount of informations - Previous Sims games usually had infos about upcoming packs months in advance. With TS4 the teasers were the way to go, but they don't exist anymore.

I'm just trying to say here that we do get less informations and denying this is just disagreeing with a fact. I don't want to attack you in any way (maybe my post sounds like this). You can be okay with less infos and that's fine. No one tries to force you to be upset or angry. But I'm bothered by the promise of better communication and then seeing the exact opposite happening.

I wasn't talking about people in general, just the OP, who made it clear that their reason for not owning Seasons was not out of disinterest for it but because they're overloaded on gameplay right now that they want to finish first...

That's why I said I found it ridiculous lol, and I still do.

Nothing was insinuated.. I made very clear statements: "that's ridiculous", "it's ridiculous", but never once did I say "you're ridiculous"

It sure as heck feels like it, with all these morose threads, as soon as new content is out, there's always someone loudly begging for more, especially if the newest content wasn't up to expectations.

It has varied over time, but dating all the way back to Sims 1, it has been pretty typical to get new content _roughly_ every three months, or once a quarter.

I think you need to do some fact checking on that. I'm pretty certain new content was about every 6 months.

Has it? I don't spend my life glued to social media, so I wouldn't no about that.
Maybe people need to take a break from their devices, get out and appreciate the non-pixel world for a bit. Go camping, or fishing, or take a long walk.
Maybe a bit of a distraction would take peoples minds off this perceived lack of announcements.

What is the usual suggestion when someone is missing something/someone? Isn't it usually to get on with life, do other things, to make the time fly?
