It's still way too easy to become rich in this game

It's harder to earn money if you only let your sims have jobs. I think it's pretty much impossible to play on normal lifespan and have a couple earn 750,000 + a big house from just jobs. It's the activities like gardening, painting, etc. that make sims filthy rich. If you cut back on those things, you'll have more of a challenge.

ETA: Even if two sims began YA at the top of their careers and worked every day for 5,000 simoleons a day, which no sim does, they still wouldn't earn 500,000 simoleons from careers.

5,000/day × 48 (YA + Adult length) × 2 = 480,000.

It is way way way too easy to become rich in this game. I made a thread hoping they will add some of the ideas listed from other simmers because we need things to spin money on. The Landgraabs in my game have like 4 vaults in the basement so I could put some of the money in there. They have reached the cap.

Way too easy. After a handful of promotions they’re dirty rich. And it ain’t hard to get to the top of any career....which at that point they are unreasonably wealthy.

It would be interesting if there were more things in daily life that cost money, not just luxury objects, although that’s a good idea too.

I'm thinking taxes for instance. If you have Get To Work and Discover University, that goes to pay for the hospitals and schools (according to my country's economical plan, health care and all education is free for all).
I use the money the sims can get from University as a symbol of the student beneficial sum+loan to pay for living expenses; and not as a charge for the actual education.

The lot taxes are a little confusing to me, what they are for; but I like that they are fixed and that bigger costs more. I like the additions of bills that came along with EL.

The game is undoubtedly made to be very easy for reasons, so I don’t think they will remove the option to buy groceries through the fridge, although that would be a great area to expand on, costwise. Some foods are very expensive; where I live it is the fast food and the ecologically grown that are comparatively expensive, besides luxury ingredients of course. I really like the political policies in the conservationist career, those should be developed! I don't think the actual political career will get them in a game made by EA, but to sneak more in somewhere else, and more to the point of politics, that is, economics, would be great.

There are also some great suggestions of rearranging the price levels on the things in BB mode on this forum; although I get that the idea of being able to buy a rocket ship is silly enough to fit the game's theme. To add mortgages for home byuing too, and take out loans etc. These features do not need much in the way of gameplay to add the realism that many players want, it can just be a little option on the phone.

Edit: I of course very much like the idea of the NAPs from EL, but there are just a few I actually will use, like Free Love; because the effect from them are mostly idles, and influence points, that are unnecessary, being more of a one time thing to have need for. They would serve as a great plattform to build on.

Bill come once in a week making it much more easier to save money than to expend, In Sims 3 if i start the game with only 2000 simoleons, I can barely pay bills every 3 days with a career in a starting level.

I’m finding that with money transferring, if you play legacies or “generationally”... build slightly more expensive houses for wash decedent you move out of the main family. When you have 2-3 siblings every generation and spend 40-50k per new home... your main family is always needing money eventually. ?

I liked the robbing in Sims Medieval too, and great animations with all the limping..

It’s most likely too much for a game that avoids seriousness, but this is the wishing well. I have yet to play the criminal career, but am hoping for some extorsion possibilies, a couple of organised crime activities directed to actual sims with real effect on their household sums. Like a Sharing Is Caring/Kleptomaniac feature, but without the mess that comes from removing, sort of, irreplaceble actual objects, from my hard worked on communal buildings; and instead removing the means to them, so to speak. Like a opposite to the Gift Money interaction.

I play like this too. Bills are super expensive (50k+) and they give relatives 10,000 simoleons each on holidays, and children between 50 to 300k when they move out. It definitely makes things more challenging.
