You know, the new Sims update allows the user to invoke a command from the command line in the properties of the exe file. Here is the excerpt of the 9/9/2014 update from SimsVIP below:
In addition, you can add -nohovereffects to the Command Line Arguments.
In order to add the argument:
1. Open the Origin client
2. Right click on The Sims 4 game box art
3. Select “View Game Properties”
4. Click “Game Properties”
5. Enter -nohovereffects into the text box
6. Click Apply.
Maybe there is a command to enter into the command line arguments that will initialize the game in dev-mode.
