Welcome back, I'm only here since recently but I found your message very touching.
Among the DLCs that were released during 2023, I think the Growing Together EP is a sort of must have DLC. It adds milestones to Sims' lives, family dynamics, a traits category in the likes and dislikes panel that will affect friendship relations (compatibility between Sims), and various activities Sims can do while they're young (or less young). If you like playing in live mode it's a cool pack. The world added with this DLC adds a hiking trail, and a cinema (rabbit hole) where Sims can see various movies and get moods from them. Also, There's a lot type that can combine many different activities (it's like a gym, a library, a place to cook, wash, make young Sims sleep... it's a sort of everything lot).
